Hello friends, today we are going to see the extraordinary paruppu urundai kulambu that is absolutely delicious for almost everything from rice to dosa, idly and chapathi. so lets start with the ingredients list.
Ingredients:
Paruppu Urundai:
Toor dal 1/4 cup
Channa dal 1/2 cup
Dry red chilly
Fennel seeds
Chopped onion
curry leaves
Coriander leaves

Gravy:
Onion Sliced 1
Tomato 1
Tamarind juice
Coconut
Garlic
Mustard
Cumin seeds
Turmeric Powder
Chilly Powder
Salt
Oil
Curry leaves

How to:

  • Soak both the dal for at least 2 hrs till  they are soft.
  • Drain the water from the dal,add red chilly and fennel seeds and make a coarse paste without adding any water.
  • To the paste add chopped onions,curry leaves, coriander leaves and salt.
  • Make small balls.
  • To a pan add 2tbsp of oil.
  • Add Mustard seeds and let it splatter.
  • Add cumin seeds,curry leaves and Garlic.
  • Add Chopped onion and saute well.
  • Add chopped tomato, turmeric, chilly powder,coriander powder and salt.
  • Saute them till the oil separates.
  • Add Tamarind juice and the dal mixture and let it boil well.
  • Add the Coconut mixture and shimmer for 5 mins.
  • Add the dal balls and let it cook in medium flame for 15 mins. Once they are cooked they will start to float on top of the gravy.
  • Garnish and serve hot with rice or dosa.
