Kadalai Curry | Kadalai Kolambu | Kondakadalai recipe

In today's recipe we are going to see Kerala's famous kadalai curry. This dish can be had with rice, dosa,aappam and parota. So lets start off with the ingredients.

Ingredients:
Kadalai
Onion
Tomato
Garlic
Mustard
Cumin
Coconut
Peppers
Curry leaves
Salt
Oil
Turmeric
Coriander powder
Chilly Powder
Tamarind

First start by soaking the Kadalai (Chickpea) for a minimum of 4 hours.
Then wash and boil it for 4-5 whistles in a pressure cooker.
In a kadai, add some sesame oil.
Once the oil gets hot, add Mustard, cumin, Curry leaves and fenugreek.
Once the mustard splatters add garlic and sliced onions.
Let the onions become transparent, add chopped tomato.
Add turmeric, chilly powder and coriander powder and saute till the oil seperates.
Add tamarind juice to the mixture and let it boil.
In a blender, blend some coconut, cumin, black peppers and onion shallots along with some boiled kadalai.
Add the remaining kadalai to the curry and let it simmer for few mints.
Add the coconut mixture to the curry and simmer for 10 mins in medium flame.
Thats it the famous kadalai curry is ready to be served.
